By JOSEPH BANDA –
SINO-HYDRO Zambia Limited, a company engaged to work on the Kitwe-Chingola dual carriageway says the works have reached 79 per cent completion and  the project will be completed by December this year.
Project manager Sun Hongchao said in an interview yesterday said that the south bound road had already been completed and opened to motorists who had started using it.
He said motorists had appreciated the pace at which the works were moving and pledged his company’s total commitment to quality workmanship.
He said the company was happy with the funds for the project received from the National Pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA) because they had helped in the execution of the project.
“We hope the execution of the rest of the works will move on smoothly with the co-operation of the consultant and Government as the client,” he said.
Mr Sun said the Mwambashi bridge at Sabina area had already been completed and motorists were passing through easily.
He also said that works on the 15.5 km Chingola township roads had progressed well with residents commending the contractor for the good work.
He said as planned the works on the township roads were expected to  be completed by July this year.
