VENDORS at Chisokone area in Ndola have commended President Edgar Lungu for looking into their plight by allocating them a trading space.
One of the vendors Henry Mwenya said good leadership had to be appreciated and that was why the move by President Edgar Lungu to send people to help them was commendable.
“We are grateful to our President for sending people to talk on our behalf on having a trading space put up for us. Every person who knows good leadership should appreciate that what the President has done for us is noble,” he said
Another trader, Mercy Mushanga said they were grateful that the President had heard their cries.
“We are also grateful to the Ndola Central Member of Parliament Emmanuel Mulenga as well as the Mayor Amon Chisenga who have also heard our cries and are quick to answer to our worries,” she said.
Another Trader Agness Miyanda said their hope as traders was lost from the time the cleaning programme started because they had no idea where they were going or what would be done because they had families to feed and children to educate.
“Through the area MP Emmanuel Mulenga, our hope has been restored.
From the time Presidential Affairs Minister Freedom Sikazwe was sent here, that’s when our hope was revived,” Ms Miyanda said.
She said they were grateful because the MP exhibited good quality leadership and that he was a leader for the people who had shown that he loved them despite their statuses.
Ms Miyanda said their MP did not neglect them as he heard their cries and so they were grateful to him as well.
