Criminals kill Choma farmer

A WHITE commercial farmer of Choma’s Duba Farm Five, on the Lusaka-Livingstone Road has been killed by suspected criminals at the entrance of his gate.
The deceased Clive Wixley, 59, a Zimbabwean was killed on Friday at the entrance of his farm around 11:00 hours and body dumped at a nearby bush.
Mr Wixley was reported to have been coming from the bank to withdraw money to pay the farm workers and in the process was attacked by the criminals.
Zambia Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo confirmed the killing and that the deceased sustained a cut on the forehead and his body was found in a bush a few metres from the entrance of his farm gate.
“The deceased sustained a cut on the forehead and a blunt instrument is suspected to have been used in the act.
“The body was found lying in the bush, few metres from his vehicle which was found with the engine running at the gate,” Ms Katongo said.
The body has since been picked and deposited at Choma General Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
She said the Police have started investigations and called on the members of the public with information to report to the nearest Police station.
“Police have instituted investigations in the matter and we call upon members of the public with information that will be helpful in the investigations, to report to the nearest Police,” she said.
