THE Government has strengthened surveillance at border points to ensure the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) does not spread to Zambia, Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya announced yesterday.
As of May 11, this year DRC had recorded 34 cases, 18 deaths while three health workers had been affected by the deadly disease.
Dr Chilufya said Zambia was at low risk because the epicentre of Ebola in DRC was a remote area, on the border with the Central African Republican (CAR). Read more
