PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has directed Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya to ensure that cases of drug pilferage at medical stores in Lusaka do not recur.
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda said in an interview yesterday that the Head of State was dismayed about any case of drug pilferage at the institution.
Mr Chanda, however, said Dr Chilufya clarified to President Lungu that the reported case of the pilferage of drugs worth US$1 million at the institution was an old story and decisive action was already taken on the culprits involved in the incident.
He said calls for Dr Chilufya’s resignation or dismissal of the civil society movement over the $1million story were misplaced. Read more
