THE grieving father of the 33-year-old police woman shot dead by her husband at Kabwe’s Chindwin Barracks last Thursday says he regrets sanctioning her marriage to the soldier because he had betrayed a violent side even before he married his daughter.
Moses Mulombwa, a retired police officer himself, told the Times in an exclusive interview both he and his daughter, Esther, should have seen the tragedy coming. The signals were always there.
He said the marriage should never have happened given her complaints about 42-year-old Warrant Officer Pathias Mwape, recalling how she had once told him; “He loves me but he’s a problem.”
