Security patrols intensified in Lochinvar

THE Government has intensified security patrols in the Lochinvar National Park in Monze following increased reports of poaching of the Kafue Lechwe which faces extinction.
Monze District Commissioner Cyril Hamanyanga said yesterday a team of wardens from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife had been sent to the park and were patrolling the area day and night.
Mr Hamanyanga said the team of officers would be there for 10 days, after which they would be replaced by another unit in a continuous exercise.
