The Government has yet again deferred the implementation of the shift from the Value Added Tax (VAT) regime to Sales Tax which was scheduled to take effect on Monday.
Finance Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe says the General Sales Tax on goods and services was now expected to take effect on September 1, this year.
Ms Mwanakatwe told Parliament in a ministerial statement in Lusaka yesterday more time was needed for the legislative process to take place by way of introducing the Bill in the House and getting it assented to by President Edgar Lungu.
