THE Government has quarantined livestock in farms affected by Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in three districts around the country and similarly authorities on the Copperbelt have banned the movement of cattle in Chingola following an outbreak that has affected 500 animals in Musenga.
The affected farms are Sunrise in Chilanga district, Luanshimba veterinary camp at Mr Lwindi’s and Mr Kalonga’s farms in Kapiri-Mposhi and Munga West veterinary camp in Kabwe.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Kampamba Chewe said the FMD that was reported in Chisamba and Chibombo district had spread and affected farms in the three districts.
