CSO sets Census 2020 date

THE Central Statistical Office (CSO) has set August 16, 2020 as the date for Zambia to commence the Census of Population and Housing (CPH), with 15,000 out of 40,000 tablets required for the exercise already acquired.
This will be the sixth CPH that the country will be undertaking since Independence, with the last one having been conducted in 2010 when the population stood at 13.1 million.
The CPH is conducted every 10 years, with the first census having conducted in1969 when the population was 4.1 million.
The second census was done in 1980 and the population then was 5.7 million, followed by the 1990 CPH when the population was 7.4 million while the 9.9 million were recorded in 2000.
