ZAMBIA has put back to next month the international football friendly match against South Africa that was scheduled for this weekend.
Instead, the Chipolopolo will now face Namibia in Windhoek on Monday, FAZ general secretary Adrian Kashala said in an interview yesterday.
Kashala gave no grounds for the sudden decision to deflect the much-anticipated match against regional arch-rivals saying only that the FAZ had received an invitation to play Namibia on Monday next week.
Kashala denied the action was in any way connected to the rising chorus from Zambians angered by the on-going attacks on foreigners in South Africa. A Zambia is reported to be in hospital with stab wounds to the head suffered in an attack.
