ERB still examining Zesco application

THE Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has said that it is examining the application by Zesco to increase tariffs for six months to enable the firm import electricity from Eskom of South Africa.
ERB public relations manager Kwali Mfuni said in a statement yesterday that in view of the many reports that power tariffs had gone up, the ERB wanted to clarify that it received the application from Zesco on
September 13, this year to increase the tariffs.
Ms Mfuni said that ERB was undertaking consultations regarding the matter because the application to temporarily increase power tariffs was the first of its kind and was urgent.
