BILL 10: LAZ loses another application

The Constitutional Court yesterday dismissed an application by the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) in which it requested to be granted leave to subpoena Justice Minister Given Lubinda and Attorney General Likando Kalaluka.
LAZ wanted the court to summon Mr Lubinda and Mr Kalaluka to testify on its behalf in a petition in which it has challenged the Government’s decision to alter the Constitution (Amendment) Bill number 10 of 2019.
This is in a matter in which LAZ and Chapter One Foundation, a Non-Governmental Origination (NGO)
have petitioned the Constitutional Court citing the Attorney General as the respondent over Government’s decision to alter the Constitution through the Bill 10.
