“COMPLACENCY is now our number one enemy,” Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya has cautioned as he announced that the nation had gone a fourth straight day without a new Coronavirus (COVID-19) case after another 99 people were tested.
Communicating to the Press President Edgar Lungu’s high praise for efforts of the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI) in arresting the spread of the epidemic beyond the epicentre of Lusaka so far, Dr Chitalu yesterday repeated his warning about the risk of the nation being lulled into complacency by the success of the current containment measures.
He said while the numbers ‘look promising’ so far, members of the public had no cause to let their guard down against what he called a ferocious enemy.
