JCTR calls for support

THE Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflections (JCTR) has called on local, regional and international stakeholders to join hands and show solidarity in persuading Zambia’s creditors to consider any form of debt relief for Zambians.
JCTR executive director Alex Muyebe said Zambia needs space to address its indebtedness in a manner that will not harm the dignity of the lives of the millions of its people.
Fr Muyebe said yesterday in a statement that in the absence of debt relief, the Government would be compelled to undertake serious stringent fiscal, monetary and economic austerity measures which would gravely affect the social sector.
