COPPER for delivery in September fell 2.7 per cent from Friday’s settlement price, touching $9,248 per tonne yesterday on the Comex market in New York.
This is on the backdrop of the daily new Coronavirus infections which have been surging from the United States and Europe to Asia due to the spread of the Delta variant.
Mining.com market tracker reports that copper price fell on Monday this week as the dollar hovered near its highest levels in months, making greenback-priced metals more expensive and less appealing to holders of other currencies.
