FQM shelves plans to sell stake in Zambian mines

FIRST Quantum Minerals (FQM) has shelved plans to sell a stake in its Zambian copper mines, chief operating officer Tristan Pascall has said. The biggest mine in Zambia by production and investment has also reported total copper production of 199,689 tonnes in the second quarter of 2021, an increase of 18 per cent compared to the previous period. According to Mining.com, China’s Jiangxi Copper had been speculated as a potential suitor for minority interests in First Quantum’s Kansanshi and Sentinel mines.
