THREE streams out of the five in the Kamenza Forest Reserve number 19 in Chililabombwe have dried up due to human activities. The government says it is considering repossessing the pieces of land which were given to the ex-miners and other people in the forest reserve. Meanwhile, mining activities at Rongxing Investments in Kalulushi are allegedly polluting the Luena stream. The human activities in the forest include cutting down of trees for charcoal burning, settlement and farming.
