COACH Bruce Mwape has warned his players to guard against complacency after the 6-0 win over Phoenix FC in a practice match ahead of the Morocco 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) finals.
While impressed with the encouraging scoreline, Mwape says the players should not relax because the competition would be a different ball game with stronger opponents.
Mwape said in an interview here that the team still had a lot of work to be done before the WAFCON Group B opening game against Cameroon on July 3.
“The girls played well in the sense that they created a number of scoring chances. In-fact, in today’s (Saturday) game, we could have scored more than 10 goals. The six was not enough looking at the chances we created in the first and second half,” Mwape said.
