EXODUS Boxing Promotions is scouting for K25,000 to put heavyweight, Francis ‘Galagata’ Zulu in residential camp to prepare for next month’s International Boxing Federation (IBF) intercontinental title fight against compatriot, Joseph ‘No Pressure’ Chingangu in the United Arab Emirates.
The IBF bout, which was initially set for yesterday in Dubai, has been postponed to March 28.
Exodus manager, Anthony Mwamba said in an interview in Lusaka that his stables would need K25,000 to camp Zulu and two other foreign boxers, who will be helping the national champion in training, next week.
“My boxers will be camping next week and they is need of about K25,000 to facilitate his camping and two other foreign guys who will be helping Galagata with training,” he said.
Mwamba appealed to the corporate world to help his boxer with finances ahead of the IBF title fight because the two fighters would not only be in Dubai for the bout but also marketing Zambia.
He said he expected a tough fight between Zulu and Chingangu because the boxers have more than enough time to prepare for the IBF showdown after the postponement.
“The IBF heavy weight title is a very important title for my boxer Galagata and he is training hard to ensure that he gets the title,” Mwamba, who is also Zulu’s coach, said.
