SOME viewers have compared the Born and Bred Awards to the just ended larger-than-life continental Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) and the heavily sponsored Mosi Zambian Music Awards.
No qualms, the two aforementioned were far much better although they too had their own lapses here and there like when comedian John Okaffor popularly known as Mr Ibu went to present an award at the AMVCA, he announced a wrong winner. It was a technical fault.
Truth be told, this year’s awards were much better than the previous years in the history of the Born and Bred Awards.
This is not to say they were good and therefore producers should go home smiling about it but they should remember that they still have a lot to do before they can attain that level of close to excellence.
Apart from other technical challenges, beating live broadcast time is what seems to be a major challenge that Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation is still grappling with.
Anyway, from the indicators of the just ended Born and Bred Awards, room for positive improvement and a brighter future is certainly there.
The two main presenters were on point looking at the technological challenge they were facing of a failing teleprompter.
This is a good beginning for the future of the Born and Bred Awards though many would still have nothing good to talk about the same show.
