A THIRTY-YEAR-OLD man of Kalomo District in Southern Province has allegedly defiled a three-year-old girl.
The girl of Paipi Village in Chief Siachitema in Kalomo, was allegedly defiled at her parent’s home by a relative identified as Eddie Mwaanga.
Mr Mwaanga of Simwanda Village in the same chiefdom allegedly defiled the juvenile on Sunday around 15:00 hours.
Provincial police chief  Mary Chikwanda said yesterday that the suspect was on the run.
“We received a report of Eddie Mwaanga having defiled this named juvenile and after defiling her he run away,” she said.
Ms Chikwanda said police in Kalomo were looking for Mr Mwaanga.
And Police in Serenje have arrested a 22-year-old man who is alleged to have been in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl and charged him for defilement.
The man of Low Density area was alleged to have had carnal knowledge of the girl on March 24, 2014.
Central Province police chief Standwell Lungu said yesterday that the incident happened around 20:00 hours and identified the suspect as Mizah Cheelo.
Mr Lungu said preliminary investigations revealed that the minor and the suspect had been in a relationship until they were caught in the act by some members of the public and handed over to the police.
Meanwhile, police in Kabwe are still investigating a case in which some conmen pretending to be Mulungushi University employees went on an orgy of swindling business houses, with one victim losing goods worth K50, 000.
The unscrupulous people were issuing fake cheques in exchange of mostly electrical items using Mulungushi University.
A firm in Lusaka was robbed of tyres worth more than K50,000 through the same scheme.
