By PERPETUAL SICHIKWENKWE –
A LUSAKA-BASED  Information Technology (IT) specialist has appeared in the Lusaka magistrates’ court on a charge of bigamy to which he pleaded not guilty.
Sibanike Simuchembo Kaseele, 33, of house number 4333 Hibiscus Road Burma residential area is charged with bigamy contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that Kaseele on April 9, 2012 in Lusaka whilst being lawfully married to Martha Louise Harper did undergo another marriage ceremony with Kamwengo Sakubita.
Kaseele who was arrested on May 5, 2014 is represented by Lusaka lawyer, Butler Sitali.
When the matter was called up before magistrate Lameck Mwale yesterday, a State prosecutor informed the court that the matter was coming up for plea.
But Kaseele denied committing the offence after the charge was read out to him by Mr Mwale and the court entered a plea of not guilty.
Mr Mwale has since set July 3, 2014 as a date for commencement of trial.
