By NORMA SIAME –

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) central committee member Willie Nsanda yesterday said former Defence minister Geoffrey Mwamba would be buried in an electoral avalanche if he fails to humble himself and admit he was wrong in the way he handled his resignation.

Mr Nsanda who was in Kasama yesterday also said he was ready to travel with Mr Mwamba to State House to make peace with President Michael Sata.

He also advised Mr Mwamba not to involve himself in the impasse between the Bemba Traditional Council and Government which would soon be dealt with.

Mr Nsanda was speaking on a programme on Radio Mano in Kasama yesterday, adding that he was ready to escort Mr Mwamba to Lusaka to make amends over his past indiscretions.

“President Michael Sata will never come here to plead with him. He should humble himself and I am ready to go with him to Lusaka so he can make peace with the President,” Mr Nsanda said.

Mr Nsanda said Mr Mwamba needed to respect the oath of secrecy and was wrong to engage in a war of words with the Head of State.

“We brought you here and you cannot win without us. You say you have plenty money and if you want we can bet. My politics are clean and I will make sure you lose.

“I am repeating. I want to take you with me to go and plead with the President. You cannot declare a standoff with the commander in chief. Mr Mwamba, among all of us was Mr Sata’s favourite. He would fly here, I came by road,” Mr Nsanda said.

He lashed out at Mr Mwamba for saying he had made a significant financial contribution to the party.

He said if the former minister kept on harping on about his contributions to the party, it showed that he did not support the PF wholeheartedly.

And Mr Nsanda who went door-to-door in some parts of Kasama Central Constituency said his opinion poll showed that Mr Mwamba’s popularity had waned.

And Anglican priest, Richard Luonde who also featured on the same programme prayed for peace asking leaders to have big hearts because arrogance would not build Zambia.
