THE Government has warned accountants in North-western Province
against engaging in money laundering and fraud activities which are
detrimental to national development.
North-Western Province Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga
said
accountants in the province should acquaint themselves with Government
financial regulations, code of ethics and the budgeting process to
avoid financial disciplinary matters.
ZANIS reports that the permanent secretary said this in Solwezi
yesterday in a speech read for him by his deputy Alfred Chiingi during
the orientation workshop for accounting staff drawn from various
Government departments.
Mr Malupenga called for transparency, accountability and adherence to
objectives of Government financial regulations for effective and
efficient service delivery.
In a vote of thanks, Maheba Secondary School accounts assistant Reagan
Mbaulu said the workshop would help old and new staff acquire financial
knowledge that will help them deliver services effectively.—ZANIS.
