Letters to the Editor -LogoTHE  ‘bishop’ of Holy Fire Ministry, who is alleged to have defiled teenage members of his church must face the law.
The church is self-governed and has the highest code of conduct and disciplinary procedures.
Therefore, our people must be assured that we consider this case as criminal in the same way the law of the land looks at it.
Not that we consider ourselves to be perfect or regard certain sins to be more serious than others but we truly express our anger at the gravity of the sin committed by the so-called pastor.
We ‘mourn’ because these defiled teenagers may never be the same again.
There are certain sins which merely require repentance and correction but the sin committed by this ‘pastor’ deserve equivalent chastisement which can only be handled by the law of the land.
The Apostle Paul dealt with such grave sins and instructed the elders of the church to not only throw such a person out of the church but also to “hand him over to the devil for the destruction of his flesh…” (1Corinthians 5:5).
We continue to appeal to church members to report to church elders and Police any prayers of deliverance which suggest sex, or inappropriate touching.
Christianity is not a secret society but a light that shines for all to see.

Thumbs up to Nkana fans

ALLOW me space in your reputable column to commend the Busakile Boys’ fans on the peaceful matches being experienced at Nkana Stadium today.
Nkana’s fans never used to accept any defeat, home or away. Any defeat was attributed to poor officiating.
Nkana fans, old, young, men and female used to move with stones in their kit bags.
Any scores that went against Nkana FC invited stones on the pitch.
Their savagery and antediluvian behaviour (then) left many scars on innocent referees, players and fans.
Players and fans feared to walk into Chilata stadium. Only Kalewa team (during their stint in Zambian premier league)who used to manage them ‘war-wise’ due to their profession as soldiers.
Their behaviour invited many bans and sanctions from the Football Association of Zambia. Fans were banned from entering the stadium in Nkana’s home games.
We thank God, Nkana fans are reformed and have learnt from past wrongs.
Games at Chilata are very peaceful today.
A fortnight ago, Nkana lost 1-0 to Zesco United and lost 3-2 to Green Eagles last week.
And all these games were played peacefully up to the final whistle.
Keep up the good work Nkana FC fans and I wish you many God’s blessings as you watch and support your Kalampa team.

Smoking harms innocent people

SMOKING and Increased Health Risks: Smokers are more likely than non-smokers to develop heart disease, stroke, and lung cancer.
Smokers can engage others into second-hand smoke and increase their death chances.
Cigarette smoke can irritate the airways and increase susceptibility to colds and other infections.
So don’t smoke!
