A TWENTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD man has allegedly raped an imbecile of Kaleya Township in Mazabuka District.

Justine Musokotwane of unknown House number, but a resident of Kaleya Township allegedly raped the imbecile at Sugar Area market within the Township.

The matter was reported to police by a local resident, Ephraim Siamalunga of House Number 1A45 Kaleya Township.

Southern Province deputy Police Chief, Milner Muyambango, said the incidence happened on Sunday around 03: 00 hours.
Mr Muyambango said that Mr Siamalunga found Musokotwane allegedly having sexual intercourse with the woman.
 “Mr Siamalunga did bring in to police Mr Musokotwane of unknown house number over this case,” he said.

Mr Muyambango said the victim was later taken to Mazabuka District Hospital for treatment and that Mr Siamalunga was arrested and would appear in court soon.

Meanwhile, police in Namwala District have arrested and charged four pupils at Namwala Secondary School in connection with the riotous behaviour at the weekend.
The four are Grades 11 and 10 respectively.

Mr Muyambango said police charged the four pupils with conduct likely to cause preach of peace after each pleaded guilty and paid a fee of admission.

“About nine window panes for the school dining hall and boys’ dormitory were broken, but the situation is back to normal,” he said.

Score of pupils at Namwala Secondary school on Saturday between 19:30 hours and 20:30 hours rioted after demanding time for entertainment instead of studies which the school management had programmed for them.
