By PERPETUAL SICHIKWENKWE-
THE matter in which Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba commonly known as GBM is charged with assault yesterday failed to take off in the Lusaka magistrate’s court because the trial magistrate was indisposed.
This is in a matter in which Mwamba who is former Defence minister is facing one count of assault.
It is alleged that Mwamba, a business executive of 10 Roan Road in Lusaka’s Kabulonga area, did assault his operations manager at Arizona Marketing, Collins Mudai, thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm on May 14, this year.
But Mwamba’s case which was scheduled for commencement of trial failed to take off yesterday because magistrate Prince Mwiinga who is handling the matter was not available.
Mwamba was, however, mentioned before another magistrate, Albert Mwaba who adjourned his case to October 8, 2014.
He would appear for mention on September 24, 2014. Mwamba, 55, was accompanied by his wife Chama and some of his supporters.
