THE Linvingstone Magistrate’s Court has found Zambezi FM disc jockey Danny Anakene with a case to answer over his corruption charge.
This is a case in which Anakene, 39, of House Number DNB 111, Dambwa North in Livingstone is facing one count of corrupt practices with a public officer.
It is alleged that Anakene corruptly offered K4,000 to Livingstone City Council (LCC) as Town Clerk Vivian Chikoti, a public officer, as an inducement for her to allocate him a piece of land in Livingstone.
When the matter came up for ruling yesterday, Livingstone Resident Magistrate Chinkashi Chilingala, said the court had carefully studied the evidence submitted by both the prosecution and the defence and that a prima facie case against Anakene was established.
Defence lawyer Solomon Muzyamba said his client would give in sworn evidence and no witnesses would be called.
Magistrate Chilingala has since adjourned the matter to September 22 for the commencement of defence and Anakene’s bond was extended.
