Chess team leaves for SA junior championship

A COFINDENT chess team is scheduled to leave tomorrow for South Africa ahead of the 2014 South Africa junior championship chess that will be staged from September 19 to 29.
The team comprises of Under- 18s; Joshua Mulauzi of Lusaka, Isabel Mwewa of Copperbelt, Under– 16s Elias Musonda of Lusaka faith Chilambe of Copperbelt and an additional Engelbert Malambo of Southern Province. Others in the Under – 14s,  Musonda Chola of Lusaka, Muwale of Copperbelt, Under – 12s, Thabo Mhango   of Copperbelt while the Under- 10s are Subilo Chileshe of Lusaka and Limbakeni Chishimba of Lusaka. Tournament director Aaron Banda said in interview that the federation managed to find a sponsor and will depart from intercity tomorrow using inter-cape bus.
Banda said the federation was happy that sponsors come on board to help enable the team travel to the long awaited tourney.
He said they are expecting the team to produce positive results and bring medals home as they had prepared adequately for the championship.
