By now everyone knows that Zambia’s award-winning and much loved Hip hop star, Kopala Swag boy Macky2 and event planner Thresa Liteta (Resa) are the two envoys to this year’s Africa’s most anticipated reality show Big brother Hot Shots.
At least this leaves no question as to who Zambia has sent among a myriad of fans of this spectacular Africa’s most watched reality show.
But wait! Macky2 is a well known and liked award-winning Zambian star, qualifying a description of a household name but who is Resa and where is she from?
Lusaka-born Resa is a 25-year-old event planner and public speaker. She entered Big Brother Hotshots in the hope of winning the grand prize and being able to pay off her mother’s debts.
“My mother has moved heaven and earth to ensure that I get my honours degree and in the process has incurred debts,” says Resa.
She’s ‘extremely nervous, but delighted at the same time’ at the prospect of having the continent’s eyes on her 24/7. She says the viewers can expect ‘realness’ from her.
“No pretence, I’m an open book, I don’t hide my struggles because they’ve shaped me into who I am and I’ve used them as stepping stones,” she says.
Viewers should also expect dancing and definitely lots of laughter from Resa.
Resa describes herself as ‘unique, colourful, bubbly, random and hyper’, saying that her inquisitive nature means that she won’t suffer in silence.
“I’m apologetic, my outspoken nature, I’m a go-getter, open-minded and spontaneous,” she says.
As for Macky2, he is 29 years old from Luanshya. His favourite book is 48 Laws of Power and his top TV shows are Suits, Crisis, Game of Thrones and Idols SA.
His favourite actor is Denzel Washington, because he is able to play so many characters and bring each one to life.
Jay-Z is both his favourite musician and his role model – the latter because ‘he’s one of the most successful entertainers of our generation’. His father has also played a huge role in Macky2’s life.
Macky2 entered Big Brother Hotshots because he believes that ‘people naturally fall in love with my personality, so I know I stand a chance of winning that grand prize and changing my life’. Macky2 says he won’t lose himself and what he believes in, along the way.
Describing himself as ‘a natural entertainer who is loveable,he says he always pushed himself and is never discouraged by setbacks.
“I’m confident and I truly believe I can do anything I set my mind to,” he says.
