By GETHSEMANE MWIZABI –
THEY could become Zambia’s next Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who are authorities, world over, in computer software and internet, which is the information highway of the 21st Century.
Tresford Himanansa, 27, and Clive Simanansa, 23, are smart kids trying to stretch their brains.
They are a focused and dynamic.
Their brains are wired like a computer and all  they do and talk about is out of this world.  Internet programming comes so naturally for them.
The duo who happen to be first cousins,  are taking internet programming by storm.
Their ultimate dream is to become the Larry Page and Sergey Grin of Zambia; in a sense of internet revolution, a passion that runs so deeply in them.
Lots of Zambians might know that Larry Page and Sergey Brin are founders of the world‘s biggest search engine Google. Google was founded by the two, while they were PhD students at the United States’ Stanford University.
Tresford and Clive are down-home young entrepreneurs who like to help people with their internet needs.?At a young age, they also had fun helping people solve their computer issues, no wonder they  are highly sought after for their internet acumen by several companies.
The two are behind XYPNET, a Ndola-based internet company that develops computer software, mobile applications, web-based systems and also offers website and email hosting services.
From a bedroom idea, to something tangible, they are an example of truly liberated human spirits, free to tap from riches lying deep within their brains. They are not products of culture, which often relegates people to a place of mental inadequate. Everyday that passes by; they are tearing walls down, breaking through ceiling of impossibilities.
Since coming up with the XYPNET, the two have provided services to some 200 companies and individuals, the most notable ones are the  TIMES OF ZAMBIA’S e-paper, Zambezi Portland Cement, Gary Rutherford Outdoor Advertising, Ndola City Council, Zambia Tuberculosis Authority, Zambia Rugby Football Union, Solwezi Today Magazine, Indimba, and Amunzi social network.
“ I started the company from my bedroom to render information technology business solutions to different organisations to help them enhance operational efficiency, improve productivity, easily combat competition, enlarge their market share and facilitate growth,” says Tresford,  who founded the company in 2010.
At  first clients were small businesses that needed an online presence, and rapidly, the company grew its client base, introduced more services and now serves clients ranging from small businesses to mega-companies in various industries.
“I believe young people can make a difference. Zambia is full of awesome talent, but often, we don’t stretch our brains enough to achieve results,” said the casually dressed software authority.
Tresford, who often spots canvas shoes, jeans and a black shirt, happens to be a former Evelyn Hone College computer student, who had 12 points at Grade 12.
During his final year at college, he developed a system that the college wanted to buy, but for some reasons, it could not happen.
He has never wanted to be employed. Despite several temptations from big companies to join them, he would rather have a project with them other than working for them.
And so, after college, he ventured out heart and soul to pursue his childhood dream. “I didn’t have capital but just an idea.  From my first contract, I got  K2,000 to put every little thing into the business,” he said.
True, a lot has been said about unemployment in Zambia. Well, for Tresford and Clive, they have refused to bury their heads in the sand.
Their belief is that business is about solving and finding solutions to problems.
Their company’s growth since inception has triggered a chain of products and services beyond XYPNET’s core web designing and Hosting. It offers online productivity software Email (Customised Email Addresses, a school management system(Bosku), computer networking and a social networking service(Amunzi.com). The company leads the Local Social networking service with its social network Amunzi which had over 450,000 users as of December, 2013.
But who in the world are these two kids.
Tresford Himanansa,  born in1987, is the Founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of XyPNET. A geek figure, tech visionary and business trailblazer, his leadership is fueled by his long term dream of building the biggest information technology (IT) company in Africa–and he is slowly transforming XyPNET into a computer programming powerhouse –at least in Zambia and a trendsetter in the Internet business dawn.
Tresford is the son of Nicholas Himanansa and Linah Haachilala Himanansa. He is the first born in a family of 5, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
He attended primary school at Dambwa Primary School in Livingstone. After completing his Primary School Education, Tresford was accepted at St Raphael’s Secondary School in Livingstone where he schooled for two years from Grade 8 to 9.
In 2001, he moved to Ndola where his father was transferred to by his former employer Zamtel. He started secondary school education at Lubuto High School in Ndola for three years  from Grade 10 to 12.
While at College, Tresford was regarded as the best programmer by his class mates. People used to go to him when they had problems in writing Computer programmes.
As a matter of fact, his having a professional qualification in computer science, he is a self-motivated and self-resolved, arguably second to none when it comes to computer programming know-how in Zambia.
Since he founded XyPNET (a Software Development and Web Hosting) in 2010, he has grown the company from zero clients to now more than 400 companies and a good number of individuals.
Well, it takes lots of creativity to start something from nothing.  He never applied Tresford has been called the Bill Gates of Zambia as he spends most of his time writing his computer.
As for Clive Simanansa is a Zambia young entrepreneur best known for being the sales and marketing vice-president, at XyPNET and President at Amunzi.com,a social network run and operated by XyPNET Limited .
He was born on  December 30, 1991 in Monze, Zambia and is the first born and only son of Vester Simanansa. He was blessed with only one sister.  From a young age, Clive showed entrepreneurial spirit and aptitude for selling and doing business, while his outspoken and energetic personality shone through.
He has throughout his life displayed a strong and resilient personality.
He did his Primary School education in Monze at Moya Middle Basic. After completing primary school education, Clive travelled to Ndola in the Copperbelt to his uncle’s place in 2005, to complete his secondary school education where he schooled at Chilengwa Basic School from Grade Grade 8-9 and Masala High School from Grade 10 to 12.
In 2011, he quit his job at Airtel and started the toughest journey of his life, to grow IT Company with his cousin Tresford, in a Competitive   Information technology business.
As for the ICT business in Zambia, the two believe the number of mobile devices is ever on the rise.
As Bill Gates once said “In Today’s business, if they can’t find your website, then your company doesn’t exist”
There is no doubt that the population of mobile devices is growing.
There are currently over 4 billion mobile devices being used to access internet worldwide.
“People should not just be limited to just calling and texting when they can use their mobile devices to access their website and buy their products online,” said Clive.
Yes, the consumer buying patterns has continued to change, and lots of people are now creating mobile optimised websites for their businesses.
In today’s global village, mobile communications technology has become the world’s most common way of transmitting messages, voice, data, and services in the developing world, and is the best way to keep in touch with friends clients, employees, suppliers and so on.
Ultimately, the dream is to become the biggest software company in Africa.
They are inspired by the world’s biggest search engine Google founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were PhD. ?students at United States’s  Stanford University.
