Letters to the Editor -LogoPLEASE allow to convey my heart condolences to the First Lady Christine Kaseba Sata, the children, grandchildren, relatives and all the loving Zambians for the untimely death of our beloved President.
Many loving Zambians including me were deeply sorry to hear the death of our beloved fifth President on October 28, 2014 in London.
He had good and fine qualities of leading Zambians in their different endeavours. His death is a great loss to the country.
Quoting the late Mr Sata in a speech at the last political rally in Marapodi in 2011 before the Patriotic Front (PF) took over Government from MMD. Mr Sata said; “there is no need for political party leaders to hate each other in politics because nobody owns politics, Capeza munzako capita mawa cili pali iwe (meaning, whatever happens to you today is past, tomorrow it will happen to you too.)
During his leadership as President of Zambia, from 2011 to the time of his death in 2014- two years and 10 months – some people used to insult him at will. But he never used to retaliate. This signifies gallantness. He was also a brave and highly spirited man.
Mr Sata’s aims, objectives, ambitions and interests were to develop and transform the whole country. He planned to build a road network to link all districts and establish of new districts through projects aimed at, among other things, creating jobs for the youth.
Renovations and?upgrading of infrastructure and new projects, stadiums, airports, hospitals, clinics, colleges and universities and others have also created jobs.
Focusing on his speech at the opening of parliament, President Sata explained Government plans as has been outlined in the 2015 National Budget.
Above all, the late President was very courageous, honest, brave, practical, loving, forgiving, and sympathetic minded.
He was indeed a great man of action who stuck to his words and served our motherland passionately and compassionately.?He also embarked on assigning Zambians to revamp the dismantled industries aiming at creating more jobs.
The late Mr Sata was a man of real action who fought corruption. He declared that he would rule Zambia according to the Ten Commandments (exodus 20:15) in the Bible.
May the almighty God keep his soul in eternal peace!

Welldone Dr Scott

IT is gratifying that Acting Republican President Guy Scott has shown leadership by reinstating Patriotic Front Secretary General Edgar Lungu whom he fired early this week.
The bold decision to bring back Mr Lungu has brought peace and this would enable us to mourn our hardworking and down-to-earth departed President Michael Chilufya Sata.
Few leaders have that courage to rescind such decisions in life, hence Dr Scott has shown that he is a good leader which is why he was appointed as vice-president by late President Sata.
May the Lord give Zambia a perfect replacement for Mr Sata in both the PF and Zambia.

Sata did a lot in a short time

DURING the short reign of President Michael Sata of three years, massive developments have been recorded countrywide. Amongst those that I affectionately hold to my heart include infrastructure development and reducing of employee’s tax in Pay As You Earn.
It is because of late President Sata that everyone in formal employment who gets K3, 000 and below is enjoying the tax exemption.
This happened because of Mr Sata’s love for the less-privileged.?President Sata has contributed immensely to Zambia from the time he was Governor until he became the Republican President.
It is against this background that I am appealing to all Patriotic Front members and supporters to refrain from confrontations during the mourning period our dear late President.
The escapades that we witnessed few days ago unfolding before we bury the President were sad.?We should, however, not tolerate indiscipline in the country even after 11 November 2014 the burial day for President Sata.
Meanwhile, allow me to thank Acting President Guy Scott for reinstating Edgar Lungu as Secretary General of PF. Credit also goes to those who were involved to stop cadres from campaigns during the mourning period.
However, my other appeal is to see clean campaigns after we put to rest our dear beloved President.?Let us also aim to celebrate 100 years of peace in 2064.
The countdown to the peaceful Century celebrations of Zambia should start now.
Rest well President Sata!
