ZAMBIA’S 22 year old Cartier Zagorski is next Thursday expected to represent Zambia at the 2014 international Miss Earth at the University of the Philippines theatre in the Philippines.
The LLB Law Student and green beauty is representing Zambia amongst 88 delegates from across the world, as she takes part in a competition that has gained unprecedented traction over the past 15 years. She arrived in Manila, Philippines earlier this month and will have spent three weeks in South East Asia, travelling throughout the Philippines visiting schools and communities, promoting environmental campaigns and programmes and meeting with dignitaries and environmental bodies across the region.
Zagorski says she is ready to share with her fellow delegates Zambia’s stand and objectives pertaining to Sustainable Tourism.
The Miss Earth Zambia strives to create a platform to empower young women in Africa to take on environmental and sustainability issues and build these young ladies to become Ambassadors for the extensive environmental, conservation and sustainable work that needs to be done. Zagorski says in a statement released in Lusaka by her management team that she is excited at the prospect of running campaigns for the Miss Earth Zambia.
Miss Earth Zambia Executive Director, Catherine Constantinides said, “Cartier is a bubble of fun and is very excited at the prospects which lie ahead. She has worked hard to embrace this opportunity. We are proud of her efforts as a green ambassador, not only for Miss Earth, but for her beautiful country.”
Zagorski has been keeping fit at ForeverFit with the help of owner and personal trainer, Timera Bettochi. Being active and fit contributes greatly to a healthy mindset and slots in with a green lifestyle. The glamour of being Miss Earth Zambia is being taken care of by Midori Eco Salon. Anisha Patel, Fahmidah Patel and their amazing team are responsible for her cosmetics needs for the duration of her reign as Miss Earth Zambia 2015.
Zagorski said: “Each of us has a responsibility toward the earth and as Miss Earth Zambia I have the ability to make others aware, as I was made aware. This programme provides exposure and resources across borders which expand the benefits incurred. Zambia holds a significant place in my heart as does the green cause. I leave you with Zambia’s slogan, “One nation one Zambia.”
