By JAMES KUNDA –
A TYPIST at the Judiciary has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for uttering false documents and obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretence.
Winnie Mponda, 34 of plot number 266/60A Kudu Road in Kabulonga, Lusaka, was arrested on Thursday and charged with three counts of uttering false documents and one count of obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretence.
ACC corporate affairs officer Jonathan Siame said Ms Mponda, however, had been released on bond but was due to appear in court soon.
In the first count, Mponda between January 1, 2012 and June 30, 2012 in Lusaka, being a public
officer, a typist at Judiciary, fraudulently uttered a false Grade 12 school Certificate to the Judicial Service Commission, purporting to show that the document was genuine.
In the second count, Mponda between January 1, 2012 and June 30, 2012 in Lusaka, fraudulently uttered a false shorthand typewriting certificate Number BC5/985 to the Judicial Service Commission purporting to show that the document was genuine.
It is alleged in the third count that between January 1, 2012 and June 30, 2012 in Lusaka, Mponda fraudulently uttered a false National Registration Card Number 1376658 to the Judicial Service Commission purporting to show that it was genuine.
On the same dates, Mponda dishonestly and with false pretence purported to have had a shorthand Typewriting Certificate to be employed as a typist at Judiciary.
“By virtue of her employment, she received a total salary of K60,133.04 and a settling-in allowance of K4,628.57 from the Government,” Mr Siame said.
