By  SYLVIA  MWEETWA and DELPHINE ZULU –
ACTING President Guy Scott has said the Patriotic Front (PF) is going as a united force to scoop next month’s presidential elections.
Dr Scott  told a massive rally at Comet Ground in Kabwe’s Makululu Township yesterday  that the misunderstandings which had rocked the party, were over and that currently there was only one PF which should be supported by all.
The acting President, who shared the same campaign  stage  for the first time with Mr Lungu, said it was time to reclaim whatever was lost and that the party would work towards completing the projects which were initiated by Mr Michael Sata and called for support for Mr Lungu.
“I want  to say that the disagreements we had are over and you should give 100 per cent support to PF because there is only one PF and I appeal to you all to support  our candidate,” he said.
Mr Lungu assured the nation that he would not let them down once given the mandate and that he would ensure that he completes  the developmental projects  which were  started  by late President Michael Sata.
He was confident of winning the January 20 election because his visions is ensuring that poverty is reduced, while construction of roads,  health  posts  and other infrastructure are also completed.
He said that the PF means well for the Zambian people and is interested in developing every corner of the  country and that Zambians should  allow the PF  to  complete and fulfill the promises it made before the demise of  Mr Sata.
He told the cheering crowd, that chanted “Chagwa, Chagwa”, that some of his critics were challenging him to resign as minister but that there was no law that compelled him to do so.
He, however, said he would proceed on leave soon to focus on campaigns.
On agriculture, he said Central Province continues to play a major role and that  his  interest is to see to it that investors were  found to  set  up milling plants to produce  mealie-meal locally and  at a reduced cost.
The PF leader said the re-opening of Mulungushi Textiles would create more jobs in Kabwe and that it was why an investor had been sought for the firm.
PF would not embrace homosexuality and that it is more interested in stopping early marriages among girl children.
Mr Lungu’s wife, Esther, asked Zambians, especially women, to vote for the PF candidate to guarantee a better Zambia.
Mr Lungu also featured on KNC Radio where he reaffirmed his commitment to developing the country once elected.
Bible Gospel Church in Africa (BIGOCA) has advised Mr Lungu not to be detracted in taking up leadership because God has already chosen him as the next president.
BIGOCA Overseer Peter Ndhlovu said during church service attended by Mr Lungu in Lusaka, that the divine intervention by God in the PF was an indication that no man had authority to nullify Mr Lungu’s position and urged him to ‘finish the race’.
The overseer thanked Mr Lungu for reconciling with Acting President Guy Scott and urged political parties to speak the truth and peace for the betterment of the party.
Mr Lungu, accompanied by his wife, Esther, said he almost gave up his presidential ambitions due to pressure but was encouraged by consolation from the Church.
