By SYLVESTER MWALE –

THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) yesterday rescheduled its campaign programme for the weekend to tomorrow due to unavailability of the aircrafts that have been hired for the campaign trail.

PF president Edgar Lungu was yesterday expected to resume his campaign trail after Christmas with planned rallies in Kaputa, Nsama and Mpulungu in Northern Province.

However, Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe said in a statement that the entire programme had been rescheduled to Monday and the sequence of rallies would be conducted as earlier planned.

“The delay has been caused by unavailability of the planes and helicopters hired in this campaign trail. The logistical delay has been caused by the current holidays.

“The agent hired to make these arrangements experienced difficulties to deliver the fixed wing plane and two helicopters and could only deliver them on Sunday (today) in the afternoon,” Mr Sikazwe said.

The programme however, proceeds as scheduled tomorrow with Mr Lungu visiting Kaputa, Nsama and Mpulungu before addressing rallies in Mbala and Mungwi on Tuesday.

The PF leader would proceed to Mpika, Chinsali and Isoka on Wednesday for further political rallies and meetings.
