Police capBy REBECCA MUSHOTA –

A MAN of Mansa has shocked his family after he killed himself for unknown reasons.
Luapula Province Police Chief Malcolm Mulenga said yesterday that Boniface Kapisha, 53, of Nyauma Village in Chief Chimese’s area in Mansa was found hanging from a tree by a red tie in the yard of Mululu Muonga within the same village.
Mr Kapisha was found hanging from a tree around 08:00 hours on Thursday.
He left his home on Wednesday around 17:30 hours.
Mr Muonga informed police that he had found the body of Mr Kapisha hanging from a tree and they rushed to the scene.
“On physical inspection of the body, police officers found a protruding tongue and a prolonged neck,” he said.
Mr Mulenga said his family was shocked because he did not say anything or seem upset when he left the house the previous day.
He said his wife, Harriet Mwewa, said Mr Kapisha left the house to buy cigarettes near Mansa Primary School.
His wife only got information the next day that he had committed suicide.
Police do not suspect foul play and have advised the family to bury the body.
