A THIRTY-man Power Dynamos team today leaves for a 10-day training camp in Kenya ahead of next month’s CAF 2015 Confederation Cup clash away to Al Khartoum of Sudan.
Power are due to fly out from the Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola at lunchtime on a Kenya Airways flight to Nairobi.
Club secretary Ricky Mamfunda said the Chipolopolo duo of defender Christopher Munthali and goalkeeper Joshua Titima will join the team next week following their recent return from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) duties.
“The 27 registered for CAF and the three that have not been registered Stephen Kunda, Martin Phiri and Mathews Msoni are also going,” Mamfunda said.
Mamfunda said Power will play their first of three scheduled friendlies against high-profile Nairobi-based club’s starting with Kenyan champions Gor Mahia tomorrow at 16:00 hours.
“In the other two games, we will play Sofapaka on Wednesday then the last one on Saturday against Tusker and we are trying to see if we can play one of them under floodlights.
And we are trying to work arrangements for the two players (Titima and Munthali) who were at the national team and we might give them a break to be with their families for four days and later join the team in Kenya,” he said.
Power will later travel to Sudan ahead of their preliminary round, first leg match against Al Khartoum scheduled for February 14 before hosting the Sudanese club in the final leg on February 28 at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
