By MOSES CHIMFWEMBE –
STRIKER Jimmy Ndhlovu has been ruled out of Power Dynamos’ clash against FC Mounana of Gabon in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup because of a calf injury.
Power make the trip to Libreville on Thursday to face Mounana in the first round, first leg tie of the Confederation Cup this weekend, with the return leg billed for Arthur Davies Stadium a fortnight later.

Ndhlovu and defender Christopher Munthali missed Power’s 3-1 beating to Zesco United in the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final on Saturday with the latter sidelined after picking up a knock during training.
Power assistant coach Anderson Phiri said in a post match interview that Ndhlovu’s injury is a blow to the team ahead of their clash against Mounana.
“Munthali suffered a knock during training and he can still make it to Gabon but Jimmy (Ndhlovu) is a major doubt because he may not recover in time for this weekend’s game,” Phiri said.
Meanwhile, Phiri said the defeat suffered at the hands of Zesco in the Charity Shield will not sway his team’s focus on the Confederation Cup tie against the Gabonese team.
He said Power will work on the defensive lapses that saw Zesco score their goals through set pieces.
“This defeat can only affect players now but we still have a few more days to recover and we will go into Gabon well motivated. Conceding goals through set pieces is a source of worry but we have to get back to the drawing board and work on that problem ahead of the CAF engagement,” Phiri said.
