FORMER Defence Minister in the United National Independence Party (UNIP) administration, Lavu Mulimba has died.
Mr Mulimba, 77, died in the early hours of Sunday at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka where he was admitted for an illness.
This is contained in a statement released yesterday by Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska.
Acting President Inonge Wina has since accorded Mr Mulimba an official funeral and the nation will observe a day of national mourning on Wednesday April, 8 when the former Defence minister will be put to rest at Sandwe village in Petauke.
The funeral is being held at Mulimba farm number 691, Sub division 38-39A, Mungwi road, Lusaka West.
