Beautifully Healthy LogoDEAR Reader, I really hope you are doing well and keeping warm in this weather.
So I recently went shopping for new makeup tools,  brushes, sponges and all that then I was rather overwhelmed with the wide assortment of brushes available, different sizes and types.
So today you and I will learn the different types of brushes and their uses and please refer to the pictures as well.
A fan brush is quite weird looking and sometimes you might think there is something wrong with it due to its fan-like appearance. It can be used to apply blush, blend, clean up excess powder and highlight cheekbones.
Brow brushes are the unsung heroes of brushes they are useful for filling in eyebrows, it is angled so that you can get even the thinnest areas of your brows.
Powder Brushes according to stylecaster.com are the most common form of brush and; ‘should be in every makeup collection. It should be used to apply any type of powder foundation product.’
The eye blending brushis used quite a lot by makeup artistes to apply eye shadow in your eyelid creases.
I once found a lip brush in my makeup kit and then I never knew what to use it for so I literally threw it away, as its name suggests its used to apply lipstick or/and lip gloss perfectly on the lips.
These brushes actually help lipstick lipstick longer both on your lips and in the tubes.
I absolutely adore Kabuki brushes (and yes I only just discovered their cute name), Kabukis are short with wide round or flat bristles.
The brush is ideal for buffing mineral powder on your face, its best to use a circular motion.
It seems there is an abundance of eye makeup brushes out there but am not complaining.
The angled eye brush is also among the most widely ignored makeup brushes mainly because many people don’t know how to use it.
It is used to define eyes and is usually used with gel eyeliners and if you want to get a more precise line along your crease.
You know that airbrushed look that you get from some makeup artistes? That comes from stippling brushes , which are a beautiful blend of goat hair and  synthetic fibres, used for light powder, liquid or cream products it’s amazing and a must have.
The eye shadow brush is so common that I probably do not have to explain what it does, eye shadow application.
Another type of angled brush except larger and typically used to apply blush its firmness is very similar to powder brushes.
That’s it for this week, next week we tackle the remaining types of makeup brushes so don’t forget to get your favourite paper, Sunday Times of Zambia.
