FORMER Medical Stars chairperson, Alex Mambwe has rejected an olive branch extended to him by the club and instead decided to form an amateur football club, Lexphil United.

Mambwe said he had nothing more to do with Medical Stars and resolved to direct his energies and expertise to his newly formed club based in Ndola’s Masala township..

Medical Stars vice-chairperson, Joseph Musowoya on Sunday said the door was still open for Mambwe at the if he wanted to contribute to the welfare of the FAZ Division Two North side.

“I am not interested in Medical Stars anymore. I was just offering my services to the club I formed but now that I have quit and decided to move on, I don’t want to be associated with the club and their offer has come too late,” he said.

Mambwe said Lexphil was formed following a recent amateur football tournament in Ndola which attracted six teams.

He said Lexphil was formed by private individuals and that the club had already secured sponsorship deals from the corporate world.

Mambwe was embroiled in a leadership tussle with Green Sikapizye over the chairperson position.

However, records at Football House recognised Sikapizye as a lawful chairperson, a development that prompted Mambwe to quit the club.
