BOXER Chester Simpungwe was yesterday clobbered by Bwalya Lumbwe during the ongoing Midlands Amateur Boxing Association (MABA) tournament under the auspices of the Zambia Agriculture and Commercial Show in Lusaka.
That hammering was enough reason for coach Kennedy Kanyanta to drop Simpungwe from the provisional 14-member squad preparing for the African Federations Boxing Championship (AFBC) slated for Morocco next weekend.
Lumbwe was dominated in the ring to pick up a 3-0 win over Simpungwe to guarantee himself a place in the final seven member squad that will compete in the tournament set for August 15 to 22.
National team coach Kennedy Kanyanta said he decided to drop Simpungwe as the boxer failed to impress.
The AFBC tournament will see rated boxers from the African championship qualify to the Congo Brazzaville 2015 All Africa Games.
Meanwhile, Green Buffaloes boxers mercilessly clobbered their opponents to win the 2015 Inter club Agricultural show championship.

Davy Mwale of Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions (OQBP) knocked out his club-mate Shadreck Banda in the first round of a flyweight bout while Felix Katongo of Red Arrows hammered Patrick Banda of Young Armoury to win on unanimous points.
