UNIONISED lecturers and other workers at the Copperbelt University (CBU) in Kitwe have called off their work boycott.
The employees resolved to resume work on Friday after they were informed by management that they were going to start accessing their September salaries later in the day.
The workers downed tools on Monday over delayed salaries for September, which they wanted to be first paid before they could resume work.
CBU Academics Union (CBUAU) president Mwiya Songolo confirmed the development in an interview on Thursday.
“The registrar called us yesterday to inform us that workers will start accessing their salaries in the afternoon and so based on that, we have called off the work boycott,” he said.
