THE Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation (ZBBFF) is racing against time to raise the K60, 000 deficit needed to successfully host the 2015 Mr Zambia contest set for December 11 at Taj Pamodzi in Lusaka.
ZBBFF general secretary Cornelius Chanda said in an interview that the federation was optimistic of meeting the K120, 000 budget before the event and called on the cooperate world to come on board to help host the prestigious tournament that has attracted 48 musclemen.
“We have raised half of our K120, 000 budget to host Mr Zambia and we are appealing to the cooperate world to come on board and help us stage this event.
We are confident that the budget will be met because we have some pledges that have come through,” he said.
Chanda said from the 48 bodybuilders that have so far confirmed participation, 22 will come from the Copperbelt while the rest are from Lusaka.
Defending champion and six time Mr Zambia winner Sylvester Mwila will be eyeing to defend the title with Honest Miyupi expected to lead the Copperbelt chase for honours.
Mr Zambia retains to the scene after the ZBBFF failed to host the event last year due financial constraints.
