OVER 100 athletes aged between 12 to 16 years will converge at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) for the first ever ‘Basketball Camp-100’ training camp in Lusaka.
According to a statement released by the OYDC and Zambia Basketball Association (ZBA), the youths will undergo different skills training to be conducted by retired players and coaches, who had the opportunity of being the best during their active days.
OYDC programmes manager Johnny Zimba said the centre together with ZBA, are focused on making the activity an annual national event. Zimba  paid gratitude to the ZBA for accepting to collaborate with the OYDC to conduct the camp which he hopes will be successfull.
“This basketball camp-100 will run for half a day. The boys and girls will go through different basketball skills to be conducted by retired basketball coaches and players.
For starters only Lusaka based players will be involved, but we hope to continue with the same programme next year at a national level” he said.
