This is according to a statement released by Press secretary at the Zambian High Commission in South Africa, Nicky Shabolyo.
The 72-strong Zambian contingent which camped in Maseru to take part in various sports disciplines held at the National University of Lesotho, comprised university staff from the University of Zambia and the Natural Resource Development College (NRDC).
SAUSSA UNZA treasurer, Andrew Sakala said from Maseru that the Zambian representatives also came third in both Netball and Volleyball.
Zambia beat Walter Sisulu University of South Africa in volleyball when the two faced each other for the third place playoff.
The netball team were declared winners after being awarded points when their opponents, National University of Science and Technology from Zimbabwe were declared unfit and consequently withdrew on account of several injured players in their team.

The SAUSSA games are held every year and involve university staff in the Southern African Development Community member countries.
