MOSI lager, a product of Zambian Breweries Plc, has been named the product of the year by the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS).
This was at the inaugural national quality awards this month.
ZB technical director Franz Schepping described the award as a big achievement for the company.
“This is a huge achievement for us. We take a lot of pride in ensuring that our products meet quality standards.
“This award validates our effort and hard work in this regard,” Mr Schepping said.
According to the statement, the awards ceremony was held during the national quality week and culminated in a prestigious gala during which winners of various categories were honoured.
ZB quality manager Esther Mapenda said the company’s business thrives on customer satisfaction, hence the need for quality assurance systems to increase customer satisfaction.
Government, through the ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, kick-started the national quality awards programme which would be observed annually on the Zambian national quality calendar that falls in the second week of October.
This is intended to encourage local producers, manufacturers and service providers to align their operations in accordance with national, regional and international quality requirements, standards,and statutory and legal requirements.
