By PERPETUAL SICHIKWENKWE –
LUSAKA lawyer, Paul Banda who is alleged to have killed his wife Vivian, has engaged four attorneys to represent him in the matter.
Among them is a Kabwe-based lawyer Mulilo Kabesha and Mark Haimbe who were put on the court records yesterday.
Banda has been appearing before Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate Jennifer Bwalya for mention, while awaiting instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to have his case committed to the High Court.
Banda is alleged to have murdered his wife, Vivian Ilukena in October last year.
When the matter was called for another mention before Ms Bwalya yesterday, State prosecutor Dennis Manda informed the court that he was still waiting for instructions from the DPP.
The court was informed by one of the lawyers engaged by Banda that the accused person would be represented by four lawyers.
Ms Bwalya adjourned the case to January 25, 2016, for another mention.
Banda was remanded in custody as murder which is tried by the High Court, is not bailable.
